BZK-005E Multirole Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance UAV

The BZK-005 UAV is a reconnaissance aircraft designed by Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics and Harbin Aircraft Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. It is used by the Chinese Navy. BZK-005E drone is independently developed by Beihang UAS Technology Co., Ltd which targets in both domestic and foreign market. The flight control system of the UAV is highly autonomous even capable of take-off and landing on plateau, With anti-corrosion (salt, wet, fog) design, it can perform operations on the plateau, the ocean and the desert, realize all-day and all-weather task deployment. The platform of the UAV is highly integrated, it can realize the function of SAR radar, EO, communication and radar reconnaissance, and communication relay. Its modular design enables rapid replacement of different payloads. The endurance of the UAV is over 40h with ceiling of 8000m, the take-off weight of 1500kg, and external payload of 370kg. The first BZK-005E drone is assembled in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, Nov 13th, 2017.All flight tests have been successfully completed so far.

The Beijing-based Beihang Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Technology is now seeking the first international order for its export-specific BZK-005E drone multirole medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle (MALE UAV), following the successful grant of an export licence for the air vehicle earlier in September.

The BZK-005E UAV is a modernised derivative of the indigenously developed BZK-005 UAV platform – also known as the Changying (Long Eagle) – in widespread use across the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) air, land, and sea services for long-range reconnaissance and electronic intelligence (ELINT) missions, made its public debut at the latest iteration of Airshow China in Zhuhai from 6–11 November.
