It is mainly responsible for long-range early warning of air targets, especially stealth aircraft, and takes into account the detection tasks of tactical ballistic missiles and adjacent space targets. The detection range of the 609 radar is 600 kilometers. At present, the 609 anti-stealth radar has been installed in the radar unit of the People's Liberation Army to perform detection and monitoring tasks for stealth fighters.
